I have a number of oud scents, all of which are different and enjoyable. This one however...is truly different from anything I've tried. The initial blast is complex, with all these notes fighting for their place in the mix. I get the licorice note. Sometimes it smells like rubber to me, but this doesn't last long. The drydown is well worth the wait, IMO. Smoky wood, caramel, incense. I'm not a fan of overly sweet scents in general. The sweetness here complements the smoky vibe without being too heavy. Projects well, and I get several hours with this one. Lasts days on clothes. Great cool/cold weather performer.
I was blown away by the unique scent profile of this one. I spend a lot of time on the woods with my dog, and I enjoy spraying this on before we go for a long hike. Only scent I own where I bought a 2nd bottle to stash away.
Smells exactly like Vertus Vanilla Oud
This is a banger!! This fragrance will last for over 6 hours!! Smells like burnt sugar in the beginning then it calms down to a sugary vanilla smell!! Definitely gonna get an extra bottle
Very good guys
I've seen several reviews and videos on RWI, and often hear it compared to Maison Margiela's Replica By the Fireplace. I smelled that original on strip at a Sephora, and I already own and love Jazz Club, but I wanted to get it on skin. I picked up a 10ml travel spray next time I was at Sephora and tried it. It opened beautifully, but didn't project for me, and didn't last long at all on my skin. I decided to try RWI because of the price point. I don't find it to be a clone of By the Fireplace at all, but has several of the same elements, so I'll call it an "Inspired By" fragrance instead. And in this instance, I like it better -- all the way around -- than By the Fireplace. For a fraction of the price, it smells high quality, has great projection and longevity and is not overdone on my skin. I've been reducing the number of dupes I'm buying lately, and saving up for designer and niche, as my collection has grown and has a lot of the scent profiles covered. But this one (if I ever get through this bottle) I would buy again.
