OK this is another blind buy based on YouTube hype and it's been grossly overhyped. It's supposed to be By The Fireplace flanker but to my nose, the OG is more warm and ambery and less "Burnt Wood". We are talking bitter, black charcoals and loads of cloves+pepper. I am learning that I dislike bitter notes in a perfume - even paired with sweetness it's super hard to overcome. You will smell like a burnt wood, maybe "after the fire", because I get SO much pungent charcoal and bitterness - and it's not balanced well with other notes to make it sweeter and more pleasant. There's just not enough vanilla there - except maybe get a tad better in the dry down. It's very sharp and harsh to my nose, leaning very masculine. The vibe is "hardcore monk-type man who lives in the mountains" . I loved the presentation, the beautiful bottle and it seems to give a lot of promise - just not for me. C-
